Volunteer Connector, Check and Connect Program

Purpose:  Lilyfield deploys volunteers in its EmpowerOKC and EmpowerTulsa program, which is designed to prevent the circumstances that lead families to be involved with the child welfare system. Lilyfield’s two generation (2Gen) approach focuses on family well-being by working with the whole family, providing strategic and simultaneous support to children and their caregivers. Our specific service areas include mental health counseling, parent support and education, mentoring, child-care programs, after school programs, pregnancy support services, and foster care.

AmeriCorps Member OKC (Direct Service)

Lilyfield’s EmpowerOKC program is seeking applications to serve as direct-service AmeriCorps members. AmeriCorps members will provide Check & Connect mentoring services to 1) elementary students and their families who are in communities at high-risk for exposure to the foster care system and 2) middle/high school aged youth. Members will also support EmpowerOKC’s after school program, summer program, community engagement, and volunteer recruitment. AmeriCorps members will begin service in September. Members will serve 12-40 hours per week for 8-11 months dependent upon their member type (Quarter Time, Reduced Half-Time, or Full Time). This is NOT a salaried employee position. All members qualify for the Segal Education Award upon the completion of service. This education award can be utilized toward a member’s college tuition or student loans. Members receive a living allowance. Full-time members may be eligible for healthcare or childcare benefits. AmeriCorps members will gain valuable non-profit experience implementing an evidence-based intervention with diverse populations.
